Far East participated in the twenty-fifth China International Plastics and Rubber Industry Exhibition (ChinaPlas 2011) from 17th to 20th May in Guangzhou. The 180,000m2 venue accommodated more than 2,400 exhibitors and over ninety thousands visitors from all around the world. During the event, we have introduced our latest products to our target customers and have successfully captured a lot of potential business. We need to thank you all for your support and participation in concluding this fruitful exhibition.
In particular, at the exhibition, we promoted our branded "Faryan ®" & "Farying ®” solvent dyes which are of high-performance, engineering plastics and synthetic fiber applicable AND FDA compliant. At the same time, we introduced our next generation Fariol ® MGX-U, a chemical cleanser now enable faster and more effective purging process and become an excellent helper with significant cost saving. Last but not least, our Fariol® Engineering Plastic & Effect Masterbatches, with its ability to deliver good processing performance & dispersion, providing solution of Halogen compliant and complying with RoHS, EN71 and other safety requirements, was another product series of keen interests.
Far East has our own production facilities since establishment in 1963. “Quality is our motto”, our continued effort in providing innovative solutions to our customers under a sustainable environment is being highly recognized in our industry. The team of FEPC participated again in the K2010 International Trade Fair for Plastics and Rubber Worldwide, Duesseldorf, Germany during 27 Oct - 3 Nov, 2010.
Since the financial tsunami in year 2009, FEPC faced intensive competitions in the market. We have minimized the impacts effectively by putting extra effort to overcome this crisis. Fortunately, we enlarged the market shares in the industries of Engineering Plastics for Masterbatches and Polymer Soluble Dyes successfully during this hard time.
During the K2010, we attracted lots of potential customers, and promoted our brands which are able to comply with international safety standards, e.g. FDA approved: Fariol High Concentration Masterbatches for Engineering Plastics, Faryan and Farying Polymer Soluble Dyes for Fibre, etc. |

Far East Plastic Colours Co Ltd received the Growing Enterprises Award for the 2009 GoldenBee Corporate Social Responsibility China (CSR) Honor Roll organized by China WTO Tribune in Beijing on 5th June 2010. This is for recognizing 'good corporate citizens' in China since the first year 2007 and about 30 companies be awarded each year. Far East Specialty Chemicals Ltd is pleased to announce that its testing center located in Shenzhen has recently been issued a Laboratory Accreditation Certificate by the China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS). CNAS is the national accreditation body of China unitarily responsible for the accreditation of certification bodies, laboratories and inspection bodies, which is established under the approval of the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNACA) and authorized by CNACA in accordance with the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Certification and Accreditation.
According to the record published by CNAS, we are honored for being awarded this certificate among 3945 institutions with accreditation number: CNAS L4552. Such accreditation status demonstrates our testing center conformity to the Chinese CNAS-CL01:2006 which is identical to the international standard of laboratory quality system ISO/IEC17025:2005. This certification requires assessment on the laboratory’s competence of testing and calibration, its data accuracy in addition to the process and documentation reliability. The testing reports have been recognized by 64 authorities in 51 countries/regions such as England, USA, and Australia and so on. 》Four of ''Faryan'' colorants compliance with U.S.A. Federal (FDA) Regulations requirement |

Under the laws and regulations administered by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), four of FEPC colorants were indicated as Faryan Red EG-F, Faryan Orange 3G-F, Faryan Yellow MG-F, and Faryan Blue SRB-F are suitable for using in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) for food contact articles. FEPC intends to use these colorants at levels up to 0.2 percent by weight in PET articles in contact with aqueous, acidic, low alcoholic beverages (up to 15% ethanol) and dry foods under Conditions of Use D (“Hot filled or pasteurized below 150℉”) through G (“Frozen storage (no thermal treatment in the container)”).
We have provided regarding formulation and intended use of these colorants as well as the results of migration testing performed on these colorants, and that such use may be said to comply fully with the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (the Act) and all applicable food additive regulations.

FEPC was invited to join the BASF “1+3” Corporate Social Responsibility Project CEO Forum on July 14, 2009 in Shanghai, China. The number of project partners rose to 11 companies from 6 a year earlier.
Through the BASF “1+3” CSR project, FEPC obtained the skill of how to use scientific management methods to meet the existing challenges, and to gain new business opportunities. We are learning and cooperating among with other enterprises from BASF supply chain to implement corporate social responsibility. FEPC cares and understands the concepts and practices of the BASF “1+3” CSR project, and realized CSR has long been strategically important for our sustainable development. |

Far East has participated in the 23rd International Exhibition on Plastics and Rubber Industries (Chinaplas 2009) in Pazhou Complex, Guangzhou from May 21st to 24th 2009. During the exhibition, we were mainly promoting our brands "Faryan®" & "Farying®" which are high performance and synthetic dyes with many good responses. Our colourful samples and color chips of dyes were attracted a lot of potential customers who are coming from different countries. In addition, we were also promoting our brand new Masterbatches for Engineering Plastics application: Fariol® SMA Series for Automotive Industry; and Fariol® SME Series for Electronic & Electrical Appliances, to our target customers.
According to the statistics from organizer, the said exhibition was successfully attracted near 70,000 visitors, and up to 1900 exhibitors were participated. Under the current global economic recession, the number of both exhibitors and visitors were increased in Chinaplas 2009. And Far East has gained a lot of valuable business opportunities from the exhibiton. |

The new EU Chemicals Regulation – REACH entered into force on 1st June 2007 and it is intended to harmonize and simplify the existing chemicals legislation throughout Europe.
- Chemically pure substances produced in or imported into the EU in quantities of more than 1 MT/year have to be registered.
- For articles, registration is required only in the case that the substances used are intended to be released during normal and reasonable foreseeable conditions of use.
- In other cases, notification rather than registration to ECHA should be made when concentration of any Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) in the article is above 0.1% w/w.
Currently, we have pre-registered a number of our Faryan® and Farying® polymer soluble dyes for REACH.
